Standard AD from Prnjavor was founded in 1943. It is a company with a long tradition in furniture production. As a part of SOUR Šipad, Standard has been producing school furniture until 1985. Then it started producing domestic furniture with mixed materials, until year 2000. Thanks to the brilliant quality and design, Standard has grown in to a company with 300 employees, which has placed its products on domestic and also on the international market. 1990 – 1995 Standard has worked with small capacity only. In the year 2000 with 90 employees Standard started cooperation with the Swedish company IKEA.
In 2001 Standard became a joint stock company which was a condition to start sales of shares. Throughout 2004 the Swiss company Daccomet AG from Zurich started to acquire shares of Standard. Currently Daccomet AG owns 84.5%, funds 14.6%, and small shareholders 0.9%. After the purchase of the majority of the shares by Daccomet AG, three investment cycles have been carried out. These investments imply new equipment, new facilities, accessories, training of employees with the goal to improve quality and to increase the capacity. Now Standard has 250 employees and it has started a new investment cycle.
